A one day course for junior doctors with a special interest in orthopeadic training.

Fracture manipulation and plastering techniques are essential skills for a junior orthopaedic doctor.  They are often the first to assess patients and are the most likely clinician to perform reduction/stabilization of fractures.

A proper reduction and plaster cast application can make the difference between conservative management or operative intervention.  Even in cases where the patient requires operative intervention appropriate reduction and stabilization of the fracture provides a 'bridge' to surgery.

By means of a one day course, we hereby offer you the opportunity to review the theoretical and practical foundations of common fracture manipulation and plaster application techniques.  Lectures will be given by experienced orthopaedic surgeons.  Students will be working in groups of three under close supervision.
